Tayshaun Prince of the Boston Celtics is the latest trade candidate named in Mavs rumors.
While the Dallas Mavericks are said to have trade interest in Kevin Martin of the Minnesota Timberwolves, so far there’s been little traction regarding such a deal.
Perhaps that’s a sign the Mavs may move on from Martin and turn their attention elsewhere, possibly to Boston Celtics forward Tayshaun Prince.
The veteran has been seeking a buyout from the Celtics, but that likely won’t come until after the NBA’s trade deadline. Prince has drawn interest from a handful of teams, like the Los Angeles Clippers, but Dallas might be his newest suitor so says recent Mavs rumors.
Along with Williams, Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin could be on the move. The Mavs are said to be among those exploring a deal for Martin. If not, they could potentially look into Boston Celtics forward Tayshaun Prince, who’s available.
Prince is obviously not the player he once was, though the Celtics have little reason to retain the forward and will likely ship him out for the best offer. The Mavs certainly have enough assets to get the job done, though how much Dallas is open to paying for the former Kentucky star is unknown.
Tayshaun Prince certainly appears as if he’s on the Mavs wishlist, regardless.
