NBA Rumors: Kyrie Irving Unhappy With LeBron James, Cavs?

Kyrie Irving

Just a day after LeBron James defied orders and refused to leave a game, now we’re greeted with news that Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland. But why is Kyrie Irving unhappy with the Cavs?

Apparently he’s not a huge fan of playing the sidekick role to King James, as noted by Stephen A. Smith who all but suggested the former Duke star wants to be traded on ESPN’s First Take.

“Dating back to last year, I’ve been told that Kyrie Irving ain’t too happy being in Cleveland,” Smith stated on First Take this morning. “The situation is not ideal for him. I don’t know the particulars, I haven’t spoken to him personally. It’s something that I’ve been hearing for months; that under ideal circumstances he would prefer to be someplace other than Cleveland.”

Such a ‘report’ needs to be taken with a grain of salt considering the source. That’s not to say Stephen A. Smith is wrong, but his track record isn’t exactly clean either.

All that said, while Kyrie Irving may reportedly be unhappy in LeBron James’ shadow, he better get used to it because he’s under contract through the 2020 season and it’s hard to imagine the Cavs trading the future of their franchise.
