It’s been a career resurgence for Pau Gasol in the Windy City as the Spaniard looks completely refreshed playing for the Chicago Bulls.
Not only are his numbers up across the board, but he’s reportedly been a mentor to many of the young players on the roster and is embracing his role as a veteran leader.
He’s also going to need to embrace his role on Nikola Vuevic posters around the Florida area as he was completely obliterated by the former first-round pick who unleashed a disgustingly nasty dunk on Pau Gasol.
With Orlando holding on to a rather large lead late in the third quarter, Vucevic, after setting a double screen took a pass at the elbow and proceed to the basket. The only thing in his way was the seven-foot Gasol who looked primed to reject anything that came within arm’s reach.
Vuvevic was having none of that however as he ran directly at Gasol and threw down a thunderous dunk which sent the Chicago Bulls crowd into a hush and had the Orlando Magic roster jumping off their bench.
As if that wasn’t bad enough for Gasol, he ended up losing his balance in the process and landed on his backside to complete the embarrassment.
Still – Gasol has to get some brownie points for standing in and taking that abuse. Most would have scampered out of the way if they saw Nikola Vucevic motoring their way.
