Report: 76ers Will Trade Anybody For Draft Picks

Philadelphia 76ers Court

You’d think the Philadelphia 76ers would be content with 392 draft picks (that figure might be accurate) but general manager Sam Hinke apparently likes to count them in his sleep. That’s whey he’s apparently willing to trade anybody on the Sixers roster for more picks.

Yes, that allegedly includes players like Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel and more.

Per Forbes.com:

In an unnoticed development at last week’s trade deadline, the 76ers were still trying to trade up for a top pick in this draft, indicating a willingness to talk about Joel Embiid or any player on their team, an NBA source told Forbes.com.

In all honesty, it’s difficult to blame the Philadelphia 76ers or Sam Hinke considering both Embiid and Noel were pretty big risks when the Sixers decided to draft them thanks to their injury history.

That’s not to say things can’t work out but so far it’s not looking as if things are going to plan. On the flip side, there’s no way that the 76ers will get anything close to fair value for players like Embiid or Noel so trading them away would be giving up young talent at a bargain basement price.

Such wouldn’t normally be considered a smart move, though perhaps Hinke and the Sixers know something we don’t.
