Cheerleader Punches Mascot During College Basketball Championship

during the final of the Men's ACC Basketball Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum on March 17, 2013 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The final few seconds of the College Basketball Championship understandably grabbed everybody’s attention on Monday night, which means you probably missed when a Villinova cheerleader punched North Carolina Tar Heels mascot ‘Rameses’.

It all went down just moments after the Villanova buzzer beater in which Rameses was standing on the court. Granted, he was in the way of many Villanova cheerleaders, but that didn’t give one of them an excuse to sucker punch the mascot.

The incident was captured on camera, though, it’s a little difficult to see on your first view. Heck, it’s difficult to see after your 20th view. But in the video, you can see the North Carolina mascot fall to the ground after he’s seemingly hit in the back of the head.

After a few moments, he/she awkwardly gets up and looks around, wondering what the heck just happened.

It’s very difficult to see the culprit in the video, though many attending the NCAA college basketball title game stated that it was indeed a Villanova cheerleader.

For what it’s worth, neither school has commented on Mascotgate and I’m doubting either will, especially given the lack of evidence against the alleged mascot puncher.
