Adrian Peterson To Cowboys Difficult, But Not Impossible

Adrian Peterson

Until Adrian Peterson either plays a down for the Minnesota Vikings or is traded/signs elsewhere, the NFL rumor mill will continue to speculate that the Dallas Cowboys are the next eventual football home for the running back.

That might prove to be true down the road, but as we speak the Cowboys, even after restricting Tony Romo‘s contract aren’t going to have the needed funds to bring in Adrian Peterson at his current salary.

Given that, it’s safe to assume that the Pro Bowl talent won’t be playing in Big D this coming season, right? Well, perhaps.

According to ESPN, while the math won’t be easy, it’s not impossible that Adrian Peterson could financially fit with the Dallas Cowboys.

Add it all up and the Cowboys might need to do more than restructure Romo’s contract to make it all fit. And that makes adding Peterson difficult to do but not impossible, but it could require the running back to take less from the Cowboys in order for it to work.

You have to wonder if all the moves needed would even make a potential Adrian Peterson addition worth it, though judging from how badly Jerry Jones reportedly wants the Minnesota Vikings running back, you have to think he might try anything he can.
