It’s no secret – New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is a cheater. To what degree? That’s up to personal interpretation, though many suspect he’s the main target behind the Deflategate debacle.
For what it’s worth, Belichick says otherwise and told media that he had zero to do with the situation. He could have stopped there, but then started to insinuate that his quarterback and kicker know a lot more about the situation than he would considering their preferences on how the footballs feel/are inflated.
“I think we all know that quarterbacks, kickers, specialists have certain preferences on footballs,” Belichick said, via Jeff Howe of The Boston Herald. “They know a lot more about it than I do. They’re a lot more sensitive to it than I am. I hear them comment on it from time to time, so I can tell you and they will tell you that there is never any sympathy from me on that subject. Zero.
“Tom’s personal preferences on his footballs are something that he can talk about in much better detail than information that I can possibly provide.”
Wait – what the hell? Was that a subtle shot at Tom Brady suggesting he had something to do with it? Why would Bill Belichick point the finger at Brady and/or his kicker when he could have just kept them out of the argument?
