Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Joseph Randle To Be Starting Running Back?

Dallas Cowboys

After DeMarco Murray signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, there were a lot of Dallas Cowboys rumors suggesting Jerry Jones and company would either trade for Adrian Peterson or draft a high profile running back in the 2015 NFL Draft like Melvin Gordon.

None of that actually happened and now the Cowboys have a mildly messy backfield which consists of Darren McFadden, Ryan Williams, Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle – the latter of which is likely to be the Dallas Cowboys starting running back.

That’s the word from ESPN’s Todd Archer who predicts Joseph Randle will emerge from the pack and be the ‘starter’ for the Cowboys, though admits it’s likely to be in some type of committee.

I made a bold prediction – well, I thought it was bold – that Joseph Randle will run for 1,200 yards in 2015. So that should tell you who I think gets the “bulk” of the carries this season.

Of the pack, Randle is likely the most talented and Darren McFadden is a walking injury, so it would seem to make sense that the Cowboys would turn to the veteran. Of course, this might not be the most welcomed news to fans who’ve been following the Cowboys rumors and would like a bigger name behind Tony Romo and the vaulted Dallas offensive line.
