Jerry Rice Calls Patriots Cheaters, Admits To Using ‘Stickum’

Jerry Rice

There’s no denying that Jerry Rice is one of, if not the best wide receiver the NFL has ever seen. But when it comes to his analysis, well, it’s not on the same level.

That’s not to say he’s bad, but if you’re going to accuse the New England Patriots of cheating, you probably should have a pretty clean track record. And admitting that you’ve previously used ‘Stickum’ isn’t going to help with that.

But that’s exactly what Jerry Rice did recently, admitting that he used the product to help him catch passes all while calling the New England Patriots cheaters.

“I know this might be a little illegal, guys, but you put a little spray, a little stickum on them, to make sure that texture is a little sticky,” Rice said, laughing in an ESPN video.

Actually, that wasn’t just a little illegal, it was very illegal and against the NFL rules. That’s not to say just about every player who caught passes didn’t use it, but that doesn’t make it any more legal and it was clearly a violation of the rule book, much like the Patriots’ Deflategate.

Few probably have any issue with Jerry Rice using ‘Stickum’, but the pot and kettle might be the same color here.
