You’d think that Lil’ Wayne, so famously from the Big Easy, would be a fan of the New Orleans Saints, correct? But Wayne hasn’t exactly repped the Saints during his musical career, spending more time supporting the Green Bay Packers.
It’s a bit of an odd fandom considering the locale, so why is Lil’ Wayne a Green Bay Packers fan and not a fan of his hometown New Orleans Saints? We’ll let Weezy explain himself to Stephen A. Smith of ESPN.

I WAS TRYING TO TELL HIM, SEE, WHEN YOU ARE FROM THE HOOD, THOSE CUPS AND THOSE TOWELS, THEY DON’T GET PUT ASIDE AND SAY REMEMBER THAT GAME. NO, THEY GET PUT WITH THE REAL TOWELS. SO THEREFORE YOU BATHE AND USE THOSE TOWELS EVERY DAY AND THOSE CUPS ARE USED EVERY DAY. THEREFORE, I HAD TO USE A GREEN BAY PACKERS CUP, A GREEN BAY PACKERS TOWEL EVERY DAY. WHEN THE MADDEN GAME CAME OUT THAT YEAR, BRETT FAVRE OR SOMEBODY LIKE THAT WAS ON THE COVER AND I’M A GREEN BAY FAN FOREVER.”
