After the Dallas Cowboys released Dez Bryant, many wondered where the former Pro Bowl talent would land. Might it be the San Francisco 49ers? That’s the hope of NFL legend and Niners icon Jerry Rice, who says the 49ers should sign Dez Bryant.
Bryant made waves this past weekend after he took to Twitter where he continually trolled the Dallas Cowboys, blasting them for their sub-par offense and questionable coaching decisions, something he routinely complained about while signed to America’s Team.
Interest in Dez Bryant has been mild thus far, with only a few teams showing interest in the former Oklahoma State product, though Jerry Rice thinks the 49ers are a perfect fit as he told TMZ after San Francisco’s season opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Jerry noted the WRs could have done better — saying they’ve “got to get separation in the Red Zone … I call it winning at the line of scrimmage.”
That’s when somebody asked the greatest wideout of all-time if the ex-Cowboys superstar could be the solution … and it seems Jerry’s on board.
“I think he can help us with experience and knowledge about the game,” Rice said.
It remains to be seen if Bryant could help San Francisco on the football field, though we know he has quite the solid Twitter game.
