The Oakland Raiders roster looks a lot different than it did when the NFL season kicked off, and it might look a little stranger in the near future if reports regarding quarterback Derek Carr hold to be true.
According to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic, Carr reportedly has a ‘fractured’ relationship with his Oakland Raiders teammates, which isn’t sitting well in the locker room.
Raiders headquarters is not the best space for Carr. The belief in him has deteriorated, perhaps to irreparable levels. Team sources describe a fractured relationship between Carr and his teammates, mostly because confidence in him has waned. It certainly didn’t help when film showed what looked like him crying after being sacked and injuring his arm. They saw his face. They heard his whimper. They witnessed him explain on the sidelines. They assuredly watched it again in film session. It’s hard to see how Carr can lead this team again.
With Amari Cooper traded to the Dallas Cowboys, Marshawn Lynch likely out for the season and Khalil Mack now a member of the Chicago Bears, you have to wonder if Derek Carr might not make the move to Las Vegas once the Raiders finally give up on Oakland.
For what it’s worth, head coach Jon Gruden says he has zero intentions of trading Carr, but that didn’t stop Mack or Cooper from eventually being traded despite objections from the Raiders front office.
