NFL Rumors: Oakland Raiders Interested In Michael Crabtree

Michael Crabtree

The San Francisco 49ers were in desperate need of a wide receiver coming into the NFL offseason yet they didn’t express much interest in re-signing Michael Crabtree. Nobody else did either as the former Texas Tech star still sits without a contract.

There have been a few blips of extremely mild interest from time to time, but no football team has shown any type of serious desire to sign the wide receiver – until now – as the Oakland Raiders have set their eyes on the wideout.

Perhaps the only team in need of a wide receiver more than the 49ers coming into the offseason were the Raiders, though, Michael Crabtree probably isn’t going to excite many from a football perspective. Yes, he’s a ‘bigger name’ but his game has been lacking, especially when paired with his injury woes.

Granted, if the price is right then it’s an obvious move for the Oakland Raiders, but Michael Crabtree has previously suggested that he wants to be paid like a No. 1 wide receiver. He’s not such nor will anybody pay him as one, so he’s going to need to take a shot to the ego if he’s going to find a home in the near future.
