NFL Rumors: Vikings Have No Plans To Trade Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson

It’s no secret that Adrian Peterson wants the Minnesota Vikings to trade him, but it appears the football franchise isn’t going to budge that easily.

Earlier in the week, Peterson’s agent all but demanded the Vikings trade his client, but head coach Mike Zimmer says the team has no interest in doing so.

That obviously isn’t going to sit well with the running back nor his agent, but it’s a stance the Vikings have to make given their current position. Still, it’s one that will likely increase already volatile tensions.

Now, it’s likely the Minnesota Vikings are saying they will not trade Adrian Peterson for leverage in trade talks. Multiple teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals are said to have interest in AP, though the Vikings don’t want them thinking they’re just ready to give away their unhappy talent.

Given that, I wouldn’t put much emphasis on Mike Zimmer suggesting the Minnesota Vikings have no plans to trade Adrian Peterson. That’s not to say they will, but it appears to be a case of semantics at this point and the Vikings simply covering the basis when it comes to the rumor mill.
