Peyton Manning: I Can’t Feel My Fingertips

Peyton Manning

You’d think that as a professional NFL quarterback, you’d need feeling throughout your hand – including your fingertips. But if you’re Denver Broncos signal caller Peyton Manning, apparently you don’t need such.

That’s because Peyton Manning himself recently told Peter King of MMQB.com that he no longer has feeling in his fingertips and very possibly will never regain such.

“I can’t feel anything in my fingertips,” Manning said Thursday. “It’s crazy. I’ve talked to a doctor recently who said, Don’t count on the feeling coming back. It was hard for me for about two years, because one doctor told me I could wake up any morning and it might come back. So you wake up every day thinking, Today’s the day! Then it’s not.”

As for the reason behind the lack of sensation in his fingers, there’s no explanation if that has come as a result of playing football or his previous neck surgeries (which are of course related to football), so this probably wasn’t the type of news NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was looking for to start off his week.

Hopefully for Peyton Manning, the feeling in his fingers will eventually return, but the quarterback doesn’t sound overly optimistic regarding such.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
