For nearly half a decade, boxing fans have been clamoring for Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather to fight. Yet, despite the oodles of money that both could have securred, neither would put pen to paper and agree to a boxing match.
Why? Well, according to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather is scared of him.
Pacquiao was a guest on ESPN’s First Take with Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless and was asked why the two could never come to terms. The Pacman put all the blame on Money Mayweather, essentially calling him a chicken.
Of course, this is normal boxer pre-fight hype on the part of Manny Pacquiao, though it should be interesting to see what Floyd Mayweather comes back with – and you know he’s going to do exactly that.
Sadly, both boxers are past their prime so it’s questionable as to what type of fight we’re going to see. Are we going to get two of the best boxers of our generation giving us an all out war? Or will it be two guys who should have fought five years ago, leaving we as fans disappointed?
We’ll find out in the coming months, but until then, expect a lot of jawing back and forth between the two.
