Let me see – what did I do today? Well, I woke up. I brushed my teeth. Forgot to eat breakfast and decided to sit down and write a few blog posts. Pretty sure that’s on par with this nine-year-old girl who became the youngest person to complete the Navy Seal challenge.
Now, you’re probably asking yourself, what does the Navy Seal challenge include?
Oh – just a 36-mile run followed by a 5-mile swim – to start things off.
The 24-hour challenge used to be only open to members of the United States Military, but has since been opened to the public and nine-year-old Milla Bizzotto from South Florida wanted in.
Even better? She did it all for a good cause.
To prepare for this event, Milla has been training for nine months, five days a week for three hours a day. Her mission, she says, is to lead a movement she calls it inspiration for the iPad generation.
“I don’t want people to quit because they don’t believe in themselves because someone else says that they can believe in themselves.”
Milla, who was bullied in school, decided to empower herself by training with her dad and coach, Christian Bizzotto.
“I think the bullying thing has died down without her having to take physical action just because her outlook is so much different now that she knows how to defend herself,” her father said.
Bizzotto said, “I used to be super heavy set. I changed my whole life to be an example for her and if she’s an example for other kids that’s mission accomplished.”
Little girl just might be my hero.
