Okay, wanna-be criminals. Lesson learned. Next time you’re in the midst of a police chase and want to get away, avoid jumping in the ocean.

Otherwise, you might become fish food.

One suspect nearly learned that the hard way after he attempted to flee cops by jumping into the ocean. Little did he know, there was a massive shark right next to him.

Zachary Kingsbury, 20, was pulled over for a traffic stop just before 5 p.m. in Surf City, according to WECT.

After officers spotted illegal contraband inside, Kingsbury attempted to make a break for it as police launched a drone in effort to keep up with the now-fugitive.

That’s when the spotted the 20-year-old jumping into the ocean, right next to a large shark which almost looked as if it began to chase him.

Eventually, cops were able to apprehend Zach, who luckily spent the night in the county jail instead of the inside of a shark’s stomach.
